PhD Student

Brief Description

Anja was born in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. She moved to Wageningen to study Plant Sciences. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in 2005 she continued studying at Wageningen University for a Master in Plant Biotechnology. During her studies she worked on plant microtubules under supervision of Dr. Vos at the lab of Prof. Dr. Emons and on root meristem development at the lab of Dr. Weijers. Furthermore she went to Japan for an internship at the lab of Dr. Demura at the RIKEN Plant Science Center in Yokohama. She passed her Master’s degree with distinction in 2007. In the following year Anja worked on (plant) protein complex isolation in the lab of Prof. Dr. De Vries, before changing to the lab of Prof. Dr. Laux in Freiburg, Germany. Here she works in the SIREN project on regulators of shoot meristem iniation.
